The Chute Opened
A leap into the unknown, in a year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In January of 2020, I wrote this article about leaving a career field of 25 years to go after my passions…
The Chute Will Open
I’ve had a job since I was 13 years old and have a paycheck since then, well up until now…
Now, One year later, I am beyond thrilled to let you know that the chute has opened and I am grateful to join an amazing team of people on the iEXCEL Visualization team at UNMC to assist in a wide range of simulation and visualization technologies.
iEXCEL promotes experiential learning to achieve the vision of Global Leadership in Improving Human Performance and Effectiveness in Health Care. It’s in a one of kind, world class facility to support an innovative environment to create immersive learning experiences you can see here:
I earned two additional certifications in VR/AR development over the course of this year through the VRIA program and have every intention to continue learning emerging technologies as I have done my entire life and to use those skills to solve problems, create efficiencies and innovative ways of learning and simulations for others to experience.
The main point I want to share is that it is never too late to chase your passions and achieve goals that you can be proud of. I can’t wait to push myself into the new challenges that this opportunity affords me, time to grow again! Lets go!
NEVER EVER STOP LEARNING!
